I’m a flower farmer, dahlia hybridizer, educator, and the founder of The Flowering Farmhouse and The Dahlia Patch, an online community dedicated to helping gardeners grow with more confidence and joy.

But I didn’t always have a field full of blooms or a library of dahlia knowledge. When I first started, I made all the classic mistakes—planting too early, overcrowding, forgetting to pinch (because I was scared to!), and watching tubers rot in soil that wasn’t ready.

Like you, I just wanted to grow something beautiful. Something that felt grounding and life-giving.

Over the years, I’ve learned a lot through trial, error, and a whole lot of compost—and now I share everything I’ve learned with gardeners like you so you can skip the stress and go straight to the good part: flourishing flowers.
