Ask An Expert: Clade Software
In this session, Dahlia Growers Collective member Holly Park of Scout Hill Farm demonstrates Clade (useclade.com), the dahlia management software she co-founded with her husband Joe, a software engineer. The demo covers the full platform: a searchable catalog of more than 58,000 dahlia varieties with wish list functionality, inventory tracking with PDF order-confirmation and CSV imports, shareable inventory links for florists and tuber sales, one-click syncing to Shopify and Squarespace, a drag-and-drop bed planner, printable variety cards, and modules for dividing, cuttings, hybridizing, and exhibiting, plus a task calendar that builds year-over-year growing records. Clade offers a free version with paid tiers starting at $5/month, and every module generates reports, including total potential tuber sale revenue and per-variety dividing yields. Replay attendees can use code ONE MONTH FREE to try Clade free for a month, or SUMMER20 for 20% off (valid through the end of August, the better value on an annual plan). Free one-on-one walkthroughs, including help importing an existing spreadsheet, are available through the "Book a Demo" button at useclade.com.
Ask An Expert: Using Beauveria Bassiana As A Plant Growth Stimulant
Jes Staha from Prime Superior presents about the recent introduction of biologicals by farmers and broader agricultural communities to provide support against changing regulations and the environment. Jes will discuss the advantage of biologicals over chemicals with a focus on the beneficial fungus Beauveria bassiana (Bbas). Jes will review the history of the organism as well as current research into its capabilities as an endophyte. Join us to learn about the symbiotic systemic endophyte such as Bbas can do with a plant’s nutrient uptake, metabolism, and immune system capabilities. This will be especially relevant for learning how Bbas supports broader plant health and resilience to biotic and abiotic stresses.
While this beneficial fungus is used to stimulate plant growth, it's also been shown to help plants fight against powdery mildew, fusarium, and botrytis, all of which love to attack our flower gardens!
What is Beauveria bassiana?
Beauveria bassiana is a safe fungus that grows naturally in soils throughout the world. It forms a symbiotic relationship with plants that can increase yields and quality. The Prime Superior Range of products contain our proprietary strain of Beauveria bassiana that is optimized for plants. Prime Superior products inoculate your plants by introducing Beauveria bassiana into your plants. This inoculation brings many benefits to your plants.
